  • Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) (such as physical, sexual or emotional abuse, physical or emotional neglect, death of a parent or carer, substance abuse, bullying, racism, homophobia, substantial financial difficulties, etc) have the effect of putting an adult in a constant state of perceived threat. This form of stress rarely subsides as the source of the stress is in the individual’s perceptions. Stress has the effect of raising adrenalin and cortisol levels, heart rate and blood pressure in preparation of fight or flight (the Sympathetic Nervous System). It also reduces the effectiveness of the digestive, immune and reproductive systems (the Parasympathetic Nervous System) as the body cannot manage everything at once. Consequently the body rarely has the chance to rest, grow, repair and digest as the individual always feels threatened in some way.
  • “The effect of unresolved emotional trauma from childhood on health across a lifetime is possibly the most under-exposed risk factor for all major chronic health conditions in the world today.” … “Having a high level of ACEs is correlated with a dramatic increase in the risk of developing 7 of the top 10 causes of death.”

  • Science-based technology and programs for taking charge of your life. Proven to help you reduce stress and anxiety by increasing your inner balance and self-security. This device measures your heart rate variability and teaches you how go obtain and maintain a state of relaxation throughout the day – a state of ‘heart-brain coherence’. I aim to complete a Heartmath course to use the device in conjunction with my Health Kinesiology practice.
  • Energy field analysis – it is a future goal of mine to own one of these devices to analyse the energy field before and after Health Kinesiology treatments.
  • The latest cancer fighting news – Cancer causes, treatments, nutrition and videos. There have been several ‘The Truth About Cancer’ docu-series, a few of which I have access to. If you are a client of mine and are interested in viewing these, please get in touch.
  • The world’s most widely referenced, evidence-based, natural health resource with over 10000 health topics and 50000 peer reviewed abstracts.
  • The Body Electric: Ancient wisdom, Modern science – A possible link between Chinese Meridians and Professor Gerald Pollack’s ‘Fourth Phase of Water’
  • Cost effective PEMF devices developed by Robert Dennis who helped NASA to develop the initial devices and his new forum developed to enable the public to share their experiences
  • Earthing is a fast-growing movement based upon the discovery that connecting to the Earth’s natural energy is foundational for vibrant health.

There countless webinars/online summits covering subjects such as parasites, Alzheimer’s disease, Lyme disease, perimenopause, toxic mould, depression and anxiety, autoimmune diseases, cancer, etc. These include interviews with Functional Practitioners who are working holistically and using cutting edge technology and techniques. They detail many stories of patients who found relief from their symptoms and/or cessation of their condition. These webinars highlight the importance of addressing factors such as diet, hydration, lifestyle, sleep quality, emotional issues, parasites, toxicity (heavy metals, pesticides, mould, household products, etc), and infections such as Lyme and Epstein Barr. They are generally free and there are usually several interviews posted each day which are only available for a 24 hour period. In order to be able to download the content and watch at your own pace you generally pay a fee, which goes towards the cost of the summit and further research. I post details of upcoming summits on my Facebook page, but if you are interested in a particular subject, please contact me and I’ll do my best to help.

Books

Many (but not all) of these books are available on Audiobook, which is how I managed to read around 250 books in the past 7 years. I listen while driving, cleaning, cooking and walking the dog.
